QC Inspector - In-Process
Summary of Job Duties:
Inspect all batches of newly produced tablets, capsules, powders or liquids according to established company specifications and production requirements. Perform QC finished goods inspection ( PKG ) as needed and assist with various administrative and investigative tasks in the Quality Department.
Specific Job Duties:
1. Inspect, document, and issue disposition instructions on batches of newly made tablets, capsules, powders or liquids.
2. Inspect, document, and issue disposition instructions regarding manufacturing batch record ( MMBR ) stepwise processes – i.e. finished product manufacturing, processing, and handling procedures and transfers.
3. Inspect tablets, using established policies and procedures, for specific criteria, including hardness, uniformity, integrity, consistency, and color, and provide tablets for disintegration and other testing.
4. Release batches of tablets, capsules, powders or liquids to Packaging if product passes inspection. Issue corrective instructions, such as requires sorting if batches fail criteria on appropriate report forms and in databases.
5. Investigate and assist Manufacturing personnel regarding product or process failures and determining their origin and cause; report recommendations to Management.
6. Interact with Production, Packaging, QA and Quality Control Departments, including assisting with maintenance of specification databases, other shared product status tracking data & spreadsheets, liaison and coordinate with swing shift QC In-Process Inspectors. Assist in the weekly reporting of inspection activities to support QC metrics and continuous improvement processes.
7. Assist with the company initiative to comply with current good Manufacturing Practices ( cGMP’s ) including review and creation of SOP’s memos, reports and perform other project assignments or tasks as needed.
8. Participate as a fully engaged member of a high performance, self directed work team to achieve Department and company goals.
9. Train for Finished Goods QC Packaging inspections, label inspection and release, raw material sampling, and customer complaint investigations, and perform as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
1. Excellent written and verbal skills.
2. Strong team member skills
3. 20/20 or corrected vision.
4. High school diploma or equivalent.
5. Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
6. Basic computer skills, PC, Excel, Word, including spreadsheet maintenance.
7. Ability to perform basic math skills.
8. Self-starter, able to work with little or no supervision, strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Skills and/or Training Desired:
1. Experience in QC, QA, product inspection, food, vitamin, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry experience.
